The four friends

 Back then in those days of innocence, there were four friends who came together from different backgrounds and yet form a bond in a way many people thought it will be a friendship turn brotherhood, how wrong there were and how disappointed they become. So it goes like this in the year 2000 a young teen name Dennis relocated to a new state due to his dad work. He was introduced to one of the popular local lad to show him the ways of the community and how not to caused trouble. He came to create a tight bond with this village lad and try to teach him the way of the city but then the lads father wouldn't have it, claiming everything about the city will spoiled his son and forbids his son from hanging out with Dennis, but they never listen nor care what the lad father had to say about the city.

Now there is Prince, he grow up in the same  area Dennis find himself, Prince was living with his mum friend who is a nurse. It seems Prince mum and dad had marital problem and they were separated. Prince mum live in a far away community but his dad live in about one kilometer off the town Prince stay with his mum friend. So Prince was introduced to Dennis when Dennis had a medical problem and was treated by Prince mother friend. She told Dennis to play with Prince and that they will soon be in same school, turn out she was right. Dennis and prince start school same time and they were both in same class and seat mate. They both go to school same time and hangout after school. This goes on until they finished their elementary school and we're waiting for high school admission. While they were waiting, Dennis was helping his elder brother friend Bruno on his note and by chance, Bruno told Dennis his younger brother will be coming to stay with him from the village and he will need Dennis to be there for him since he has not one and Dennis agreed. That is how he came to know John and he quickly introduced John to Prince and after a very short time, there admission was out and they were all in same class.

Things was going very well among them and they were doing things together. They even went to school together and seat together. Then one day Prince introduced them to a boy named Tom. He told them Tom and him grow up in his father's area and will like if they will include Tom in there cycle which both Dennis and John agreed and welcome Tom. So it went on this great friendship until they left high school. After their final examination, Prince uncle find him a job with one of the federal agency, while Dennis went to the university on a four years course. Both Tom and John couldn't get admission into the university so they chose to do a diploma program. After schooling, Dennis and John couldn't get a good job while Tom got a job with the state government a d then trouble started.

Dennis meet Tom one particular day and congratulate him on his new job. Congratulations bro, am glad you got this job. It is a start of something new and great.

Thank you Dennis but am busy right now and I don't think you should be here.

Really! What do you mean?

See I can't associates with you because we are in different league in society. Man you are broke and you have nothing important to say to me so chill and take a turn and move.

Dennis was sad, but never take it to heart. One thing about him is that he hadly get offended if he knows he hasn't offend anyone. He just take it as one of those things or rather as the date want it to be. So he went to Prince to inquire about Tom behavior.

Prince my main man how are you doing?

Am very fine Dennis.

I'm just coming from Tom side and he is acting funny, what is the matter with him?

I don't know, please am not Tom keeper and don't disturbed me about such things.

Wow Prince! Is that really you?

What do you mean?

What you just said now?

Well I said what I have to say, that is all and if you have nothing to say you can just go please.

It is okay, I will be going.

Who cares was Prince reply.

Dennis shake his head in a sad way and left wondering what is really going go and why such behavior. He went to John's house and explained what he just go through with both Tom and Prince.

I thought it was only me, John was saying well seem like they did same to you too.

Why would they do that ?

Maybe they think we want to beg them money as they are the ones working.

Hmmm but that will never happened, you know me I can never beg them or asked them for help.

I know, I just feel getting a job change them.

It is okay, anyway I will see you around got an appointment.

Year went by and things wasn't going well for both Dennis and John. Prince marry and had two kids but he wasn't content and turned to wife beater, he will beat his wife without any provocation and keep carrying street girls anyhow. He maltreat his wife in a way that is even beyond reality, both enteritis by Dennis and John were rebuff and warn not to put mouth in his matter when the like of him talk that people who are jobless should mind their business. While Tom marries and had a set of twins and doesn't care about how Prince chose to live his life or treat his wife, neither does he care how both Dennis and John are doing. In fact he cut them off and warn them to keep clear of his house or anywhere he is, they should pretend they don't know him. One particular day Prince wife came to Dennis and told him Prince has kick her out of the house asking her and her people to refund the bride price he paid for her head, she was so distracted that tears was flowing freely. She keep asking what did I do? What offence did I committed?  Is it a crime to be a good house wife? We just had a kid who is not even up to six month and he is kicking me out.

Dennis could do nothing but comfort her and give her advice on what to do. And so it went for another years. Then one particular day Dennis got a message from a very good friend who told him to send his particulars and that he will go e him a job. Just like that Dennis did and he got one of those lucrative job which come with a car, a house and all expenses paid trip to any corner of the world.

He was so excited and rush to tell John the good news, John was overjoy and he pray for Dennis and thank God for his mercies. So Dennis started his new job and worked for four month before he was paid full entitlement and other benefits with sum up to twenty million dollars. He quickly called John and advice him to start any business of his choice that he will financed him, John was so excited and he quickly start things and in no time he start getting huge profit from his business and start living a good life. Dennis also help Prince ex wife to start a business which she is doing well. Soon news came that Prince is out of job that he was caught red handed doing corrupt practice which is a serious offence and he is now begging his friends and wife for forgiveness.

He has come to the conclusion that compassion is an ingredient in the journey of life. Prince learned his lesson the hard way, you can't have everything and grow it with wickedness.
